This guide offers a collection of the main international recommendations regarding HIV services for key populations.
One of the gaps identified in the national and regional responses to the epidemiological situation is poor knowledge of international guidelines amongst policy makers and their stakeholders in the community. Indeed, these documents are not easily accessible by key actors in their current format due to the terminology that is used (complex terms) as well as the language (English). The present community guide, produced in 2018, aims to group together, simplify and adapt the international recommendations relating to HIV prevention, testing and care for PLHIV and key populations. The document is largely based on the consolidated guidelines published by the WHO in June 2016 and is aimed at all stakeholders in the community, non-profits and institutions involved in the fight against HIV/AIDS in the MENA region.
